It works great Dawn. Just be aware that when you first put it on, life will suck for a while. Then after a bit you will be ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

When we take ours out of the freezer, we shove them in a plastic zip lock bag until needed.

We soaked ours down for the first time the other day. Each vest sucked in almost an entire bathroom sink's worth of water. I wringed them out and hung them up to dry (as noted in the instructions prior to first use) and they took at least 3 days to dry out.
I'm thinking this maybe the ticket to help kep us cool. I've been looking at the forecast and it seems that it may not be quite as "warm" on Friday as it was 2 years ago when I almost got heatstroke on the way to RL from Lolo.

2 more sleeps until we leave. And they can't come soon enough.

Hey - anybody know how the cabins at Alpine Lodge work? Do I need to bring bedding and/or a towel for showering?

You can zip them an email or phone call...they're pretty good about getting back to you timely...I doubt you'd have to bring your own stuff...

I believe the cabins have electricity and full beds/bedding. there is not running water or other such facilities but there is a bathroom and shower building behind the main building.

It looks like the weather is going to cool down for our trip north with a predicted high of just 81* on Wednesday.

That was the year that we broke almost every record in the book for heat. There were only 2 days in the month of July that year that were below 90. We set a record for the most consecutive days over 100 in Missoula, and our average temperature for the month was only about 2 degrees cooler than Tucson, AZ. I hope it never gets like that around here again, but so far this year is looking to be a lot better.

No there isn't

Like the rest coming across the high desert plains I was expecting 100+ temps. This will be a welcome relief, just feel for Annie, Dawn, Brian and Marilynn on thier first couple of days.

It was brutal! We really thought we were eventually going to cool off, but the further north we went, the hotter it got...plus there were several fires along the way, so it was HOT and SMOKEY.

Utah is going to be in the mid 90s...it will be rough...But from Flagstaff to there shouldnt be too bad...once we leave Moab, we should be 10 degrees cooler in an hour...

That year was when we had the bikes on the trailer and came back in an air conditioned vehicle with the bikes in tow.

Thursday is projected at 76 and partly cloudy in Missoula.
RL is 10 degree cooler.
Sounds perfect.

Well, we'll be heading back west along the Columbia after RL...and the temp's there are supposed to be around/over 100'F. So we will have a couple hot days of travel at the very least during our 2 week jaunt around the northwest states.

You could always stop and soak your feet in the river if it gets to hot.
