I looking to buy my helmet online since I can't find it here. Any advice on places you've had good or bad service. Thanks

You don't say what brand you're shopping for, but I got mine from New Enough Motorcycle Apparel sells motorcycle jackets, pants and suits, boots, gloves, helmets, etc :: New Enough, LTD and can vouch for their service. It's great. They've also got some of the best prices on HJC. Best I could find for the SyMax II.

I've had good experiences with New Enough, Helmetoutletusa.com, and sportbiketrackgear.com.

I recommend going to a local bike dealer trying on the one you want to get the proper fit, then check ebay as well...THE HJC carbon fibre 3/4 helmet goes around 260-300 I found them on ebay brand new for 200...

If your local guy is a small dealer or store I find this tactic to be very unfair to the store. I own a small store (not a bike shop) and provide a valuable service to my customers in helping in selection and recommendations that the internet does not provide-- making my product worth a little more. I resent people milking me for info and tryouts and then order on line to save a few bucks ... and sometimes coming to me after their on-line purchase for an "adjustment" or more info.

If your noggin' is anything like mine.. fit is ultra important; don't make guesses on something as important as a helmet by buying on-line where you can't try it on.

A local bike (chain) store matched online prices for my Scorpion, in fact they beat it even after taxes and free shipping.

Give local shops a chance to compete with online stores, you might need that local guy one day.

I got mine from Parts 411. Home Page

The suggested retail is not always the actual price. If it has a red dot, you call for a price.

Wow yeah I can't even begin to stress how important fit is in helmets.

Definitely try one on before buying it.

If you do find one that fits, talk to the shop and let them know that you saw one online for a certain price, there's a good possibility that they can price match.

Id much rather give the local shop my business.

Side note: I've had customers come in 10 minutes before we close that I've spent 1-2 hours with afterhours helping them try things on and get fitted only to have them leave at the end and go buy everything online to find out later that I would have given them a better package deal than what they paid.

www.sportbiketrackgear.com usually has AWESOME helmet deals and closeouts. Their site can be a little cumbersome but they are good to deal with and their prices are good.

Keep in mind that buying from an online retailer is usually cheaper but make sure read their policy before you buy to avoid any problem.

I too would say try them on first! I don't know how many helmets I tried on before selecting the FF and HH I have now. The others either hurt, didn't fit well, were uncomfortable, or just looked goofy on me (or I looked goofy in them ).

And I agree to give your local retailer a chance to beat an online price, considering shipping charges and convenience of taking it home right then and there with no further hassle or wait.

Very true.
Though it doesn't matter if his (or anyone's) noggin' is like yours.........fit is still the most crucial thing when buying a helmet. Their is just no way you should buy a m/c helmet without having tryed one on for awhile.
