Default Any GEAR is better than NONE!!!

Heading home from work and traveling the speed limit (honest) or I wouldnt be here to write, when some moron races into the left hand turn lane and whips a u-turn right in front of me! I swerve left as he fills the right hand lane only to be tapped as he crosses back left. A slide on 120' and an OMFG, and I sit up. Wearing a DOT/Snell helmet (full face), good boots, denim jeans, riding jacket with pads, leather gloves saved my life and skin. The entire face shield of my helmet was obscured with scratches. Got up, said a prayer, and went over to the driver who was white as a ghost. All I can say, in 25+ yrs of riding, it only takes one split second to NEED all that gear! Stay safe. Dont trust any cagers!!!

Glad you're ok! What'd the dumbass cager have to say?

Bike looks like it's in decent shape, any pics of the other side?

So sad to see a 14 on the ground like that. Glad to hear you're OK...sounds about like the gear I wear! Though I am seriously looking into some leather pants...maybe after I get my Givi saddlebags.

How did your frame sliders hold up? I've heard about issues with those snapping the frame on the 14.

Wow. Glad you are OK from what could have been a very serious crash. Stupid drivers.

Well the left slider broke the motor mount. Luckily its a $35 part (dep on dealer 32-40) and relatively easy to fix. I tore the bike down to frame, engine (in frame) and rear wheel. Thats all that stayed attached. Everything else came off. Rebuilt whole front, wheel rotors triple tree etc, and got the green body work from a kawasaki dealer in Michigan, Had the whole $4500 set for $999... set 32 of 50 limited kawa lime green. Took about three weeks or so to fix eeverything and the body work comes bare...have to swap gromets screws pads etc all over. But it sure looks nice now....

We have a 73 Omega we haven't had time to restore...the freeze plug blew out over the winter so we have to replace it before we can put it on the market...love the car, but it's not fair for it to just sit there...

As far as gear, I'm all about ATGATT (all the gear, all the time). My BF used to race at Louden (LRRS) years ago and had a high-side in a turn at 70MPH...his gear saved his life. It just kills me to go out riding and see young kids doing stunts in flip-flops and shorts...I usually tell them to go look up the Road Rash Queen, Brittany Morrow and leave it at that. Hoping it worked for my boss...
