Default Tools for the road

VN800, so I have two secure tool containers. One has my registration and insurance, along with a short jumper cable for the battery. The other side of the bike has a nice big locking storage spot, and I've been experimenting with various tools. I obviously don't want to carry my entire garage, but what tools or equipment do you consider necessary for the occasional odd repair on the road for road trips?

I have what I need to pull off the seat, do quick tightenings of the frame, maglight if we're traveling at night, couple wire ties, small wrench to get to the chain for on the road lubes...

Trying to pack light, but I've already bailed myself out once when I had to make an adjustment to the rear brake while out riding.

A roll of duct tape, some medium sized vise-grips,and a battery powered emergency LED flashing light(red) for breakdowns should be included(I think).

LED light is a good idea. I carried duct tape for a while, but in the AZ heat next to the bike engine it turns to goo too quickly. I replaced it with a couple of zip ties, which I already needed once to reattach a cable on a friend's bike after a minor road bruise.

Along the same idea as the zip ties: Velcro strips. I see them where they sell electronics to keep the wires bundled together. They are adjustable and reusable. I have them because my rain gear is too big. I cinch down the sleeves to keep them from balooning up.

Instead of the Maglight, I suggest something like the Nuwai Q-III LED. The battery lasts a very long time when not in use and the light is a lot better than the Mini-Mag.
