Nice looking. Not very heavy leather and not reinforced at elbows or shoulders.

Depending on how you're going to use it-you'd be better off w/something that had removeable pads.
Or a heavier jacket as Jake talked about. I've bought one for L-Up/Xelement & am happy w/it.
Diff style & it had removeable pads. Do look at comments after the jackets as they do tend
to bounce around in size-if comments say order 1-2 sizes up I'd go w/suggestion

Thanks for the replies guys, they have a jacket that's very similar with protective shoulders and elbows I guess I'll spend the extra $50 or so and get that one.

Here's a link to the new jacket if you wanted to check it out

Xelement XS-5890 Armored Black Leather Classic Biker Jacket

It's a nice jacket looks alittle less classic for some reason though, but thanks again guys.

consider reinforced vs armour. reinforced is really noting (IMHO) that said to me thae jacked depicted looks like a great deal. Being a sub ropic rider, a zipp out lining is very important and I like it when the lining has full sleeves. That alone will add 50 bucks to the jacket (or maybe more).

You get what you pay for. Looks like it leans more toward the 'fashion' side ala- the Fonz as opposed to the core biker elements protection side.

AH YES - but SOME of us ARE still living back in the '50's!

Seems all the cuts in jackets *I* like are black or other unobtrusive (not easily seen) colors - I guess to cover both bases, I'll need to get a jacket like that one - and a bright colored vest to go over it when in the saddle...

The description says it is buffalo leather which means it will never really break in. that said it is an excellent jacket for the price. Top Grain Cow Hide would cost about 350

Zip out liner and vents are very important. I bought a similar Classic style jacket from Leather Up and have had it for 3 years. pull tab on one sleeve broke off, fixxed with a paper clip. Just got a new Speed and Strength textile jacket for $150 that is very nice and vents well.

I bought an armored leather jacket from Leatherup, last summer. I have been very pleased with it, thus far. I took the zip out liner out when it arrived and haven't put it back in yet. Of course, it does not get bone chilling cold very often in south Georgia. Although the vents are great, they do not cool me off enought in the heat of the summer. I picked up a mesh, armored jacket from L/U this past spring, for hot weather riding, and the same is true of it. They seem to have decent products at very reasonable prices.

Several years ago I bought a Schott Perfecto off ebay for 160 bucks. weighs a ton, very warm, too warm for SoCal. I also got a Schott CycleRyder, and a few others. Back then, ebay was cheap; not so much anymore, but check you local bike swap meet. I would avoid that buffalo, it'll be stiff forever.
