I'm doing some research on leather jackets -- looking to replace a 10 year-old Hein Gericke. I had my heart set on a Vanson but am leaning toward the Fox Creek v1.8 now -- thicker leather, great stitching, better hardware, less expensive.
I've seen a few posts here from Fox Creek fans. Looking to hear from Fox Creek jacket owners, especially those who have had one for many riding seasons. How do they hold up? Any problems? Any complaints? Any experience, good or bad, with their customer service? Anyone had a get off with a Fox Creek that can talk about how well it held up? All feedback welcome. It looks like I need a custom jacket -- 46" chest and a 32" waist -- so once I commit, it's a done deal. So any and all feedback is really appreciated. |

Boy, you had me going there for a minute. Fox Creek is the name of the subdivision we live in. I thought, wow, someone else from Fox Creek is a member of this forum.
Bwahahahaha Sorry; don't know anything about leather jackets.

My only complaint is that my 44-Long Classic feels like it weighs 50 pounds.
I would not anticipate ANY issues with it not holding up for many, many years.

I got my fc jacket a week ago. I like the heavy weight. You have to be
careful with the sizeing. My size 46 wilson bomber jacket is larger than the fc 48. But the fc still fits. Only thing I don't like is the handwarmer pockets are not as big as I like. But I am still very happy with the Jacket. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. |

Ditto the sizing... TRUST their sizing chart. My old jacket was a 42, but was a bit too short. My chest measurement is 42, and they said to go with a 44.
I opted for a 44-Long and it is a SNUG fit. I won't say that I should have gone for a 46, but it's close. The long sizes are 2" longer in the sleeves and torso, but they do seem to run a bit longer than the cheaper jackets. The only reason I went for FC was because they offered the long sizes, which I needed because my gauntlet gloves were not covering the edges of my sleeves and the back was riding up WAY over my belt. The FC feels a bit long when walking around... I'm able to make a fist and completely tuck my hands into the sleeves, but when I'm on the grips, they are perfect and come up to my wrist bone. No air leakage at all.

Great point about long sizes. If I were ordering custom I would have
got the long. My Jacket was 248.00. At the time it was the cheapist ultra heavy weight jacket they had. While I am fairly happy about the fit, while I ride air goes up my back. Part of this may be the jacket is not broken in and bunches up in the shoulders, part maybe because my bike has a full fairing. I really don't know if I would have been happier with the 48L but it was not available with the closeout jacket I bought. My jacket fits well in all other respects and the air won't be a problem with my wife on back and I hope it goes away when the jacket loosens up. |

I've decided to go with the Vanson Mark 2 CSRX. Ordered today. Need to get some armor for it from newenough and need to decide between the soft 'street' armor and the hard CE armor. I like the added protection of the CE armor but wondering about how uncomfortable it may make the jacket. Thanks for the input everyone!
