Default Nelson Rigg Riggpaks

I'm interested in getting a Riggpak for my 900 classic LT. The "contact us" link on their website does not work, so I'll ask my question here.

I like the CTB-600, which has the detachable roll bag on top. I was wondering if you wanted to just use the roll bag only, say for a day ride, how it attaches to your back rest (or if it even can attach to a back rest)...?

I also like the CTB-450 Overnighter, which does not have a detachable roll bag, but is still very nice, and good sized, with good features (and cheap!).

I looked at a riggpack at a local dealer, and was impressed with the quality and feel.

so can the roll bags be used by themselves on a sissy bar?

ok, well never mind. I found another Contact Us link on their site that works, so I emailed them with some questions.
The Contact Us link at the bottom of their web pages doesn't work for me, but the one on the home page to the left works.

I have this one, the 900 & love it!

It's a great pack! The roll bag has it's own straps for a sissy bar if you want to use it alone. I use mine all the time for little half day trips to carry rain gear, change of clothes, etc. I really like mine, great quality, lots of room, fastens solidly to the bike & doesn't shift around & not a bad price! I don't think you'll be disappointed!

thanks pitchinguy. The 600 is very similar but slightly smaller.

Thanks for answering my question about the roll bag, since I still have not gotten a response from the company.

One thing I noticed about these riggpaks is that they have a padded sleeve that goes down over the sissy bar pad and the velcro straps to hide the straps and also give the passenger a padded rest to lean against instead of leaning against the velcro straps... A small detail, but nice of them.

I have the 350 on my bike:RIGGPAKS CTB-350 Dayrunner - 10-1502 It doesn't have the padded sleeve for the passenger but you can clip the roll bag to it. You can put an amazing amount of gear in this bag. With this and my saddlebags I have plenty of room.

so are you guys happy with the quality of these bags? hows the zippers work? I hate cheap zippers that don't work right...

Something I noticed about T-bags and also the TourMaster bags...
T-bags have a thick rubber bottom, and TourMasters have a soft rubber pad on the bottom... a nice feature so the contents of your bag don't get buzzed or vibrated to death while traveling. I don't think riggs have a rubber pad.
I suppose I could make one...

I am very happy with mine. Installed it right after getting it and use it every day. The only thing is the top of mine isn't perfectly shaped so getting the zipper to make the turn isn't the quickest thing. I have carried my laptop in mine no problems.

I was messing with a Rigg bag (the mini-tourer) and a Tourmaster bag at a local dealer yesterday.
The rigg zippers went around fairly easily and smooth. The tourmaster bag zippers kept getting stuck on the material that folds over the zipper track...
I did like the soft rubber pad on the bottom of the TM though.
I guess I'll get myself a Rigg. They seem reasonably priced. Need a luggage rack first, though... dang, this is an expensive hobby !!

I considered the bag pictured above, but realized I wouldn't use it enough to justify the price. So, I got a cheapy style that doesn't have stiffeners in it. It also doesn't have the nifty strap cover. However, I don't plan to have it on the bike empty and I don't carry passengers, so those things aren't a problem.

I did get their large saddle bags - those are fantastic:

While I don't have the specific bags in question, but I do have Nelson Rigg saddle bags and tail bag for my ZZR... While I wish there was a better way to secure them to my particular bike (the bags didn't slide around nearly as much on my 250), the quality of the bags is top notch. Basically they stay on my bike when ever I'm on it, as stuffing my lunch into my kawi jacket just isn't happening...

Just ordered the CTB-450 Overnighter, can't wait to get it. Also bought a Cobra luggage rack off of ebay for $115 including shipping. Should get both within a week...

Nelson Rigg

I chose this RiggPak since the size was right, and it had the Office Pocket in back, and the slipover pad to cover the mounting straps.
