The Icon boots I posted above are very good supportive riding boots and they are marked down from $120 to $39.99 from motorcycle superstore. They also have them in black.

is there really any difference b/w regular boots and mc boots........?
Yes where they have the reinforcemnet at. I noticed they were better than my flight boots. Different boots for different purposes.

Those do look comfortable and they come in wide widths which I need. Keep us posted on them. I have a pair of Milwaukee boots with the side zips that are okay...but that is it..just okay. I have problems with my feet and need something comfortable and wide. And after getting caught in the rain a couple of times the last two weeks, the waterproof part sounds nice as well.

Just ordered Tour Master Nomad Boots from Motorcycle-Superstore.com today. I can tell you more when they get here. I was looking for a cruiser 3/4 boot, too hot here in FL for tall boots.

Got'em a couple of days ago and wore them to work yesterday (I'm a computer nerd at work wearing "business casual" so the boots were entirely acceptable fashion-wise...to me anyway... ) They are comfortable but, like any boot, still need some break-in to be really comfortable. One thing I really like is being able to unzip the zipper yet keep the boot on...makes it quite a bit more comfortable when off the bike. Speaking of the zipper, it does make it possible to don and remove without unlacing but it's not like casually slipping on and off...you have to agressively work'em...which isn't a bad thing at all. So far, I'm very happy with the zipper decision.

One thing that was suggested to me by the retailer was to order a 1/2 size smaller than normal. I usually wear a 9-1/2 but ordered a 9 and they seem to be right. Converse says they are sized like there sneakers so I went to a store and tried a pair of "All Stars" and the 9's fit well. You might try that, too.

Apparently, the waterproofness is a combination of the outer material and an inner liner that allows for breathing...much like gore-tex I assume. Also, the zipper has material "in the gap" that would keep moisture out.

All-in-all, I'm a satisfied customer. We'll see as they break-in and wear.
