Wilson's Leather store has chemicals designed to clean leather along with brushes. I go the redneck route and use leather cleaner wipes for auto leather to clean my ICON leather jacket. I like the way it makes it smell. haha

used mine for about 7 months before i was deployed gave it a nice shine and didn't discolor the jacket in anyway. Cleaned it about once a week to get the bug juices and road dust/grime off. Kept the jacket nice and "broken in" feeling even when it was put up for a few weeks. I had the jacket stolen from me and found it in a pawn shop a month later laying over a honda spree scooter, hit it with the wipes and it was like brand new.

Hmmmm.... wonder if I could get away with smelling like my husband's old '67 Cougar....
'Mmmmm, you smell so wonderfully irresistable today! I just can't place it.... it's so fragrant yet at the same time, it smells as familiar as an old baseball glove. It brings back such happy memories! Doh! You smell like the old rawhide in my car!'

I haven't used anything on my leathers yet, and lately they're getting a little dingy. Here's a good looking website that gives some practical suggestions to cleaning your leathers, from mildew and stain removal to regular maintenance:

They have Lexol at Pep Boys I know for sure...Wally World may also carry it. I use it on cars and jackets with great results. Use the cleaner, and then the conditioner.

Did any of you treat your leathers when you got them with a water repellant?

^^^Yeah, I was assuming that they came from the factory with some kind of treatment already but then I got to thinking that they didn't. Either way, any recommendations for what product to use?

Lexol works great as a conditioner and for stains etc you can go back to old standby Saddle Soap

If you keep leather treated with something along the lines of Lexol it will be relatively water resistant of course you can always mink oil it too.

Best stuff I've run across is Connolly "Hide Care" (made in England) recommended by Jaguar, Rolls Royce, etc. A bit expensive but great stuff. I've used it on leather clothing, leather clothing, my bike saddlebags and boots! Smells great and works wonderful. Can't remember where I bought mine but several places sell it on the net; just google search. Stuff used to be known as "Hide Food" but FDA got in the act and made them change the name. Guess our government thought some nuts would eat it!

My Sidi boots and Joe Rocket leathers responded nicely to a rain storm I rode through last weekend. Seriously, they look great!
