I would suggest a pair of gloves that has air holes on the complete backside, made entirely of leather and has some padding in the palm. The leather will holdup best in a slide. The more holes the more air. padding helps on long rides unless you have some very nice aftermarket grips.

Another option you might want to consider (if you haven't already) is the Fieldsheer Air Perf gloves. My first pair held up through a get-off and the second pair looks good so far (the first pair started to open up at the seams about two or three rides after the incident, so I'm attributing that to hidden crash damage; if the second pair falls apart without an incident, then I'll be annoyed).
