I'm looking for a summer/spring/fall jacket and considering getting this Vanson. Anyone have any experience with this model? To hot for 95 degree temps?

Wish I could help you out- certainly cooler than the full leather jacket, but it's gotta get warm in that thing regardless.
That said, Vanson leathers are terrific. I always have to stop and feel the sleeves and take a big sniff of the leather (mmmm... love that smell!)... the ppl in the shop must think I'm a wierdo (oh I am). Definitely something about Vanson leathers, and never heard a bad word about em. |

Thanks Svetlana, I'm having a difficult time justifying 180.00 for Vanson's Ventmax III which is purpose built for the summer weather versus a jacket that can give me a little more comfort in the sping/fall. I guess I'm looking for a really good quality three season jacket.

Doing a quick Google search for the VenMax III reviews, every single one says it's the best mesh jacket on the market... I say go for it, and let us know what you think |

I looked very carefully at one from Joe Rocket (Reactor 2.0) but I read quite a few mixed reviews about the jacket from fit to how it stands up in a crash so now I'm thinking I'm more inclined to get the Vanson. I'm just trying to avoid spending thousands of bucks on three jackets.

I loved my mesh from Joe Rocket. I have an Icon right now, and I hate it. It lets in very little air, but I'm still managing to get a tan. It also has a collar, which I leave unzipped at the top, as I have no neck. ![]() |

I had the Phoenix. It did the job in the wreck I had a year ago, and I'll probably replace it with the Reactor. It has leather in all the right places, but mesh front and back panels. They run about $200.

I have the Ventmax III and I know I didn't pay $180 for it. I don't remember where I got it but you should Google it and check Ebay, because I think you will really like that jacket. It is the best summer jacket I have ever had.

Thanks IBSRP, that's really good to know. I've been going back and forth between the Ventmax III and the Super Moto jacket. I'm sure the Ventmax III will be better in the extreme July/August heat and humidity of NC this summer, but the thing that keeps me from ordering it is how far I can use it into the Fall here. I believe I'll be forced to compromise one way or the other; comfort or money.

I was think of a spring/summer/fall jacket and a different winter jacket but I think the temperature differences in NC would lend it self better to the fall/winter/spring jacket you use A2rider. Combined with a specialized mesh jacket for summer I think will get me through the season. As you can probably tell I'm collecting my gear for my first bike and trying not to throw money down the drain. Everyone's opinion helps, thanks!

Hey again Rad. Around here you really need max ventilation in the summer with the heat and humidity being what it is. You're smart IMO to realize up front you'll want 2 jackets. I made the mistake of trying to buy one jacket that would do it all. The problem is that no jacket with a substantial liner is the same size with it in as it is with it out. I love my Fieldsheer in the summer, but it's just way to bulky with the liner in. I could have saved some money buying a summer only jacket and put it towards a quality leather jacket for cooler weather.

Great information sisook. That's exactly what I'm trying to do; select a good quality summer jacket (cheap) and invest in a Vanson or similar quality for the rest of the year. I'll check out the Fieldsheer; I don't believe I've run across that model in my research.
Thanks again, every little bit of information helps especially from someone in the same area!
