Well, that's going to be my Christmas present from my girlfriend. The Commander. Now I have to find a dealer to try the right size on. Thanks. Are there gloves good too? Protection and nothing bulky in feel are the most important to me.

Nothing I've seen or worn comes close. It'll last 50 years or more! Go for it.

My mind is made up. Thank you both. How should it fit?

Their sizes do run small, but different styles may run differently.

On their gloves, I am not sure... I've considered their gloves, but normally wear fingerless so I have little actual protection anyways.

My wife has a pair of their chaps and they are the same heavy quality leather as my jacket.

It's not the glossy "surface" dyed leather you can find at the mall for $80.
It's drum-dyed, the color goes all the way through, so you don't get light "cracks" appearing as the leather ages or gets scuffed.

Did I also mention that the surface of the leather is a matte or "eggshell" finish... no "poser shine", and it is very soft.

Nice.

One more question.....boots? I know they should cover the ankle. But, what provides protection without being bulky or losing a sense of touch with pegs or shift lever?

I wear RedWing "engineer" boots.
Peg and shifter feel is more of a "zen" thing... but I'm used to my dirtbike boots, which are VERY stiff and heavy leather, covered with plastic. There's no "lifting your toe" to shift... it's all in the ankle.
You have SOME feeling through the top of a leather riding boot, but it's not like a pair of deck shoes.

You will not regret buying one once you receive and wear your jacket. They run small on purpose: you want them to be snug to avoid flapping and in case of spill for maximum protection. ex; if you are a 48 chest like me order the 48 but have them send you a 50 liner. The liners are made from another manufacturer and do run small.
