Default Video, Video, Video!!!!!

I finally got my video done. I had it done a few days ago but apparently you can't use copy written music in homemade videos. Anyway, I hope you guys like the video. It was fun to make it. Let me know if you have any questions.
And yes, I will polish the stator cover and I will put the ace of spade on the side cover.

Enjoy the video!

Matt-

Not to be picky but can you remove the music? It's difficult for me to hear the motor. Thanks for your effort.

Wow, you did a great job in the reedit. IMHO, artistically, it was perfect with the fade out to engine start. That bike sounds so meaty and healthy!

Hey stargate, I didn't have the license plate on when I videoed that. Its on now. I have it mounted below the tail light. So you're not crazy, they just aren't in the video.

getting the engine in the frame is a pain in the butt. I think the most important thing is to pad the frame. I taped a bunch of towels on the frame that way the motor wont scratch the frame.

I put my bike on the center stand, then I put the motor on a milk crate (the milk crate is about the same height as the frame) then I used two 2x4's to bridge the gap between the milk crate and the frame. Then I just pushed the motor over. It's a tight fit, but it works.

The other way that I've heard of is to put the motor in an old tire on its side then lay the frame over the motor and bolt it up. That seems easier than the way I did it but I don't know.

Just make sure you cover that frame or you'll scratch all the paint off.

Good luck!

Question my motor is out of an 1980 kz750, is there anything special with this motor, i know its pretty much a bored out 650 but i asked about it having points and the guy i bought it from said it didnt have points, is that a significant difference?

You might have a bit of a problem tying into your wiring harness, but no major problems. If it doesn't have points it might be an after market electronic ignition so it shouldn't matter. Just take off the points cover and you will be able to see if its points or electronic. There's no reason that you can't make the electronic work on your bike... it just wont be plug and play.

The only other difference would be the reed valves on the valve cover. just get rid of all the emission stuff and run a vacuum hose from one side to the other.

Other than that I think everything else is the same.

take some pictures!

Default Electronic up grade

I Love my Cafe'. It drives great and is a blast to ride. The only problem I'm having is with the spark. Its running on all 4 but the spark is weak on 2 of the cylinders. cylinders 1 and 2 have "sooty" plugs.

So, I did the wired george relay mod so I know I have 12 volts to the coils. I think my problem is the coils them selves. So I decided to switch from points to electronic ignition.

I bought an IC ignitor, and a timing pick up from a kz750. Now I just need to get some new coils and plug wires and I'll be ready to wire it in.

I'll up date as I get it all done.
