Default 1983 Kawasaki LTD 750

I have an LTD in very good condition. I am cleaning it up and repairing/replacing what needs to be fixed. The rear brake lever slants slightly downward. Normally I would think that someone had dropped the bike and would replace the lever. But looking at the bend it looks like maybe it was manufactured that way. I have tried looking at pictures and cannot tell if this is the way its supposed to be or not.

Can someone verify if the lever should be straight or bent downward?

thanks,
pablos

What part of it or where are you talking about a bend? Also you said "rear" but you also said "lever". The front brake uses a lever while the rear uses a pedal. So which one are you referring to and where exactly is the suspected bend?

My bad,.., Not the pedal but the front brake lever. It comes straight out of the bracket/pivot point then begins to curve down. Normally I would think if it was dropped it would bend in the middle of the lever, but this one bends just after coming out of the bracket or swivel. I just have never seen a bent lever.

My bike is an 81 LTD and also had the lever that sloped downward as it came out of the master cylinder and pivot point. I guess that was the way they were designed for bikes with the mini ape hanger style handlebars. I never really noticed mine being bent looking like that (in all the years of riding it) until the first time I removed the master cylinder from the bars.

Yes, the lever is kinda angled down because of the handlebars.
My 81 650-CSR probably has the same bars & levers as your bike.
