18" Wheels KZ550

I am bobbing my 81 KZ550 LTD, and Id like to put 18" spoke wheels on it. Any suggestions as to what other year KZs I could get them off of ? I guess the front is not as important.

I know some of the late 70s kz650s, 750s had them, just not sure if they would work out correctly.

Ive seen quite a few mid-later 70s kz400s as well, but I think they are 16". I guess id settle for that on the rear.

The 81-83 KZ650-CSR has wire spoked wheels - 19" front & 16" rear.
These are a direct bolt-on to your bike. They're readily available on ebbaayy.
Search for KZ650 wheel or KZ650 CSR wheel.

is there any way to tell, or anything that i should be noting to see if other years will fit? I want to keep the stock drum brake on there

Currently I dont see any for 80s kz650 today, but there are a couple from the late 70s.

You could try cross-referencing hub parts at Kawasaki.com.
The 650-CSR wheels are by far the simplest way to go. They are plug-n-play.
Other bikes to look into: 82 KZ750-CSR-Twin, 70s KZ650s w wire wheels (B-models).
Maybe the 70s 750-Twins - don't know.

Also, search the internet for jarle Z650 - the first result is a comprehensive 650 site w lots of info & photos.

Also, if you find someone selling a CSR front, ask them if they've got the rear.
