Ok, so I have this KZ900 that I bought in somewhat crummy shape last year and I have it running fine. NOW, I'm thinking of stripping it again and building it back up different.... Any thoughts? I don't really need to paint the frame (I could). What I'm looking for is thoughts on other parts to change like signals, shocks, rims, handle bars, seat, mirrors etc. Any ideas? The engine seems to run fine and I cleaned up the carbs etc. It has points ignition and if the bike gets ridden any distance the plugs seem to stay clean so I figure I'll leave that part of it be although if anyone thinks the new ignitions are better I'll look at that too. Basically it's just something to do over the winter when I'm not riding my other bike down south! Thanks for any info.

When you're not riding the Road King???
When I was at Kawasaki of Myrtle Beach, we did a LOT of KZ1000A models with Superbike Bars and Stepped (LTD style) seats. I consider the old KZ one of the better looking bikes made. The obligatory Vance and Hines megaphone exhaust is nice looking, too. User inline4 (Jim) has upgraded his suspension to modern stuff (and is a helluva nice guy) You've got a garage full of nice stuff. |
