Default Kawi 440 ltd runs but when giving it gas she stalls?

Hi i have a kawasaki 440 ltd that runs great but all of a sudden now when i give it gas to try to drive away it is stalling out, any ideas what could be wrong. Think one of my kids was playing with it.

It could be a carburetor problem does it idle. Do you know what your kid messed with?

The same thing happens with me sometime. I'll be sitting at a light and give it some gas and it'll backfire and stall out on me. It's more than a little frustrating when I'm at the front of the advanced left turn blocking rush hour traffic...

I would check the fuel system make sure that the right amount of fuel is getting to the carburetor,if that is all in order
pull out a spark plug and see what it looks like if its fouled out replace them if they look good check the spark if the sparks good then clean the carb out with carb cleaner and that should do it

The back fire can be caused by fouled out plugs or a dirt and Darbie in the carburetor

If it idles fine but won't take throttle, that usually points to a plugged main jet. I'd pull the carburetor bowls and remove the main jet and needle jet and make sure they're all clean.

Main jets won't even come into play until you're well in to the throttle. It could be fuel related though since the carb slides are opening up letting more air in, if it's not getting enough fuel to keep the ratio balanced it's going to bog.

check plugs, replace as necessary

check carb, clean or rebuild as necesary

might as well check if your inline fuel filter is plugged....if you dont have one, get one

.....often overlooked - air....is your air filter completely plugged and nasty....if so, yep.....that will do it as well

That reminds me, did you recently change or mess with the air filter. It's been reported that if the filter isn't seated properly and locked into it's correct position on the 440 it will run like crap.

If it's electronic ignition set them 0.7-0.8 mm.
Also it will bog out like that if the battery is no good.

Yea turns out that the battery wire came loose now its starting right up again, im running the bike right now on idle but i put in some stuff in the gas tank to clean the fuel , just waiting for it to stall out soon here lol.

I will go ahead and replace the plugs and see if that helps here in the next hour.

Ok i have the old plugs regapped at .o8 now the bike will throttle but, when the choke lever is all the way up it will throttle and stall, but atleast stays idle.

When the choke lever is at half it wont idle but it will throttle very nicely lol ugg

Mine idled great but wouldn't take gas. Turned ot to be plug wire. I could remove the plug wire from right plug and bike would still run put plug wire back on right plug and removed the left wire and bike would cut off. replaced left wire and I am back in business.

Well I drove all the way to the town auto supply store with my older plugs and they gave me new ones but I did not check to see if they looked the same as the old ones. When I went to install them the wire didnt fit over the new plugs, so I went ahead and regapped the old ones and well its not idleling proper like but I can now use the the throttle lol.
