After twenty years of sitting, she started for the first time last night. Turns out all she needed was a good carb cleaning (to begin with anyway).
After she started up, I realized that there was a fluid leak from where the muffler connects to the head. I ordered the gasket today (couldn't believe Kawasaki still made it) and it should be in by friday. What I can't seem to wrap my head around (I have very limited knowledge of motorcycles. All I know is what i've learned from this forum in the past week) is: why was there so much "liquid" coming from that area? Is the engine not burning the mixture properly? Any help as to what steps I should take from here on would be appreciated. |
