Default 1972 H2 750 Kawasaki question

Hi all, I am cleaning out my dads storage unit and came across his old bike and I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what it might be worth. It is a 1972 H2 750 Kawasaki it has had cam and crank work and was parked complete and in running order. It has been in storage for many years and dad says he parked it because it was too easy to get too stupid on it cause it was real fast. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you have the year wrong. I think 73 was the first year they made the 750 H2. Value is going to depend a lot on condition. You can watch sales on ebay and get an idea of price range but as I said the value will depend on if it runs, how well, rust, paint condition, is it all original, etc. The biggest market for these seem to be overseas so consider that if you limit sales to the US only.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to dig out the title to be sure of the year. I never even considered an overseas market.

They were produced from 71, but first official year is 72. If it has had cam work, there's something wrong with it. It's a 2 stroke.

Got pics ?

What colour is it ?

Wow I really feel stupid, lol. I'm so glad that I found this site cause I'm really not sure of this stuff. I'll try to get ahold of my dad in a while and ask him to clarify these things. He has been a multi-faceted (airplane, motorcycle, car, race & drag cars) mechanic for over 50 years so there very well may be "work done". Maybe I'd be better off parting it out.

Oh and as soon as I get it out and clean it up I'll post pics. This storage unit is packed with everything under the sun, lol. Now I have to find an ultra-light website for info on that silly thing. Again thanks guys!

Was that for the US market? Kawasaki.com doesn't list one for 72.

Well, I just sold all the lathes and other such, kinda just taking it piece by piece really. I'm going to run over there later and get the info on the ultra-light, seems to be an 86 Toyota MR2 5sp though I may keep that not sure. Boxes and boxes of spark plugs, belts, hoses, carbs (most if not all have had some work) just a mess.

72 was world wide. Most of them were sold in the US. All US 72's were blue. Europe got gold and blue.

Very nice bike! But see thats the whole purpose of the thread is I'm not sure if it is even worth anything. I realize that I need to get some pics up for that question to even be answered so i will try to be quick with it, thanks.

Yah I remember that bike, back in 73 a friend of mine had one which was a 72, 2 stroke and a very fast machine. In 73 I had the Yamaha RD 350 which was almost as equally fast, but, not fast enough in the long run to beat him !!

The 750 triple was about two seconds faster than the RD350 in the quarter mile. If you kept up with your friend then he must have been scared to get on it or he would have left you in the dust. Unless you had some port work done on yours.

I'll post pics sometime this weekend, the rain looks like it may give us a break tomorrow. Also, I am located a little south of Chicago. I really do appreciate all of your kind and helpful responses.
