Talking Another GPz1100 carb swap Q?

Hi All:

So I've cleaned and rebuilt my spare carbs. Finished removing all the FI components. Oh... who's bright idea was it to mount the fuel pump retaining bolt in that most of awkward locations, behind the swing arm pivot, under the fuel pump, just above the rear shock. My hands took a beating on that one.

Any how, It occurred to me that the fuel petcock does not have a vacuum enable circuit like a lot of carb equiped bikes had. Am I wrong in saying that there is no positive way to shut the fuel off to carbs, once you swap out the FI for a carb set up?

My first thought was to use the fuel petcock on my GPz750 tank. But that obviously doesn't work.

Any ideas, suggestions, recommendations?

Maybe I should post a picture of this GPz of mine...

Thanks for the help.

"ON" is off on vacuum operated petcocks. Only non vacuum operated petcocks have an "OFF" position.

I have the same bike and have done this swap. Assuming you have the stock petcock there will be no issues. You should have 3 positions on it off, on and reserve. The only thing you will have to do is to plug the return fitting on the right siide of the fuel tank. I just used a bolt shoved into a piece of hose and used a couple of hose clamps. These are great running bikes and are a lot of fun to ride.

"Off"? Is there an "off" on the original petcock? And I thought my wife was exaggerating when she said I don't look for things hard enough. I'll take another look. Thanks

I haven't actually ridden the GPz1100 I have. But soon...
