Default Getting ready for an epic road trip

I bought a 82 kz1000 (shaft drive) this summer, my second Kawasaki and it runs great. I will be going on a 2 month road trip across the us next summer, and i want to do everything to make this bike as comfortable as possible with out putting on huge fairings. I say this because im 6'7" and 240, so i am large on the bike, when i ride i tend to get cramps in my legs because i don't really fit. any suggestions?

Highway pegs so you can stretch your legs out some while your cruising. Not a full fairing but a small windshield like the spitfire to reduce the fatigue caused by the constant wind on your head and chest. A cruise assist throttle lock and some vibration dampening grips to reduce hand fatigue. If you can find one, a luggage rack with the adjustable backrest that can be adjusted to the drivers position. Here is a pic of the type rack and back rest I'm talking about.

For the highway pegs something to look into is putting engine case guards on the bike, then attach the footpegs to them.

Vintage K&G racks are universal fit & some of them have the sliding backrest like the one in the photo (that one might be a K&G unit). Those racks are offered on ebbaayy in all sorts of ways & it seems like they're listed as a Honda luggage rack more often.

don't forget to take a spare key (zip-tie it to the frame behind a side cover), and a spare clutch cable.
