Hello all. I have just purchased a 1975 F11E 250. It's in decent condition, and after tearing down and cleaning the carb, it fired up with a little gas in the spark plug hole. I paid $250 for the bike.
I plan to restore it. It's black now, but I am curious if anyone knows what the original color was based on the numbers. The frame number 40388, 1975 and the motor number is F11-E 40439. Any information such as color, etc, would be appreciated. I am in the process of trying to get the title. I would like to register it. Do I need a title (Massachusetts) ? I have a bill of sale. I plan to rebuild the engine this winter, and try to get the bike back to it's original color and condition. It's showing about 9,000 on the odometer. It's been sitting since about 1984. Thanks, Jeff Last edited by aquasport17 : 2 Weeks Ago at 10:28 AM. |

Are you sure that it's not an F11-B? The numbers match up for a B and I can't find any info about an E.
75 F11-B 250 Frame serial # F11-31686 - 42637 Engine serial # F11E31700 - 42689 Original factory color 1- Candy Blue 2- Candy Orange |

Its hard to get a title without the prior registered owners insuranced card or some proof that he had it registered, at least here in NJ. I found a website that specialized in this type of thing. Lost car title and old car title or vehicle titles -International Title Service. They have decent prices and if you call, they will walk you through. Good luck!!

It's a B. No such thing as an F11-E. The E is a code for a Kawasaki engine number. The 1975 F11-B was the last F11. In 1976 it continued as the KE250.
Here's the other colour ![]()

Got it. Thank you. Yes, I saw the E on the engine and thought that's what it was.
Is ther any way to know what the original color was? I guess maybe by finding some paint somewhere. Do I need a paint code to get the paint mixed? How do I find that? J |

I noticed when overhauling the carb, that the main jet was 112.5. From a little research here I thought it would be 115? It also doesn't start well, or at ALL if it's cold. It's not getting fuel for some reason. I think it might be low compression. After kicking over several times the spark plug is dry. If I use a little gas in the cylinder it fires up and runs fine when warm. Choke is intact. Any suggestions?
