Lost Key! How To Replace?

My shop was broken into last weekend and among a welder and a couple of chain saws, they pulled the key out of the ignition of the bike. Is there a number on the seat lock? I'm hoping I dont have to dismantle the ignition or replace both locks. I'm wondering if a key can be ground from a VIN or perhaps a number on that cylinder someplace? Thanks in advance

I believe rstnick in the following link still provides a key service.
KZRider topic by rstnick --- Making a key by the code number.

1981 KZ650-CSR code location: the code is stamped into the ign switch, keys, seat lock & helmet lock.
After determining the code, one source for replacement keys is eebbaayy: try searching the key number --- I did a while back & found a seller who cuts new keys using the code you provide. 2 Kawasaki Keys Code Cut Z5601 thru Z5650
Example code = Z5064. The key code info for earlier Kawasaki models might be different.

Yes, thank you Martin for the recommendation.
I have sent a key to Zoro.

Just a tip for everyone.
Keep a record of the key code #.
And a second key.
I always ride with two keys on me; a single key in the ignition, and a spare key on a keychain in my pocket.
I have lost a key once while riding. Came out of the ignition while riding.

When I ride, I also keep a spare key with me. And I keep spare keys plus a master set of keys at home in a fire safe, so I always have at least 3 keys for every lock. Before doing that, I lost my only set of keys once & it was a pain having new keys made. doh. ... At the time it wasn't very many keys/locks, but never again.

If you have the key code from the seat lock face or the ignition, try eBay first for that specific key number... I don't remember what kind of bike you have or what year but many times, you can just buy one and save the hassle of trying to get a key made. Once you have the new key, take it to a hardware store and clone it.
