1974 mt1 carb problem

I'm having a problem getting gas into the carb. I did some reading in my manual that the needle valve is stuck. I have verified a couple of time the needle valve isn't stuck. Also the carb has been broken down and cleaned, so I'm unsure what it could be any ideas?

Theres a clog between the carb and tank or in the tank. If it has a filter or filters, check for flow there. If no flow on the supply side, check the valve on the tank and keep goin till u find fuel flowing.

I pulled the tank twice and was able to verify no restricted flow from it or the gas line. I also broke down the carb and cleaned it a couple of times, still no gas to the carb. Very perplexing to me because I checked the manual and it said stuck needle valve, or like you said clogged gas line. Is there any other issue you think it could be, like an air/vacuum issue? Thanks for responding.

If you pull the bowl off your carb and the line off your tank, blow through it and see if theres a change. While your blowing wiggle the float. That will tell you if its the float valve or a vent.

Remove fuel line from carb.
Turn on fuel tap.
Do you get sustained flow?

Yes the flow is sustained. Gonna pull the carb again tonight and check into what Jim is saying to do. I'm sure it is something small, that I'm missing. I'll keep you two posted.

Why do you think the carb is not filling up?
How did you clean it and with what?

I pulled it a couple times after opening the gas line up and it's bone dry. I'm gonna leave carb on and take the bowl off tonight.
