Default Sealing carb boots ??

I am not sure if that is what the technical name is for these things..I think they are "rubber intake tubes" that sit between the carbs and the head. These are old and probably leaky. I am wondering if these can be coated with silicon or gasket maker and be used or if they have to be replaced ? I can't find new ones of these for some reason.

what bike ? more than likely 99.99999999999999999999999999999% of the time silicone is just a temp. fix . just spray carb cleaner on the boots one at a time and see if the idle goes up/down. if it does then you have a leak in that vicinity (boot, seal between head/boot,carb side etc.)

That's pricey. Try what Q says to do. You may not need them.

$35 a piece? Bwhahahaha that must be a "special"! Contact www.z1enterprises.com - I suspect they can set you up with new ones for a lot less. If you have ANY cracks, they should be tossed. You might be able to seal the cracks but they will be old and hard and not seal to the head. If you have an air leak in the intake manifolds, there is a real good possibility of holing a piston.
