How did you like the addition of the Dynatek ignition & the coils? I have them setting off to the side waiting to be installed on my bike (KZ550)

Any other shots of the bike with that front headlight cowl?? I've been thinking of purchasing it for my 550, but I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not once it was installed.

Sorry for the long wait on an answer, life intrudes on the internet .

I like the ignition and coils. Set and forget, initial adjustment can be tricky but if you take your time very doable. Wired George also suggested wiring the coils direct from the battery using a relay and switched power. I believe this helps also, cleaner power, better spark. He has instructions on his web site. Very helpful guy, I can't thank him enough.
The bike starts quick and easy regardless of temp. Usually first hit on the button or first kick for those few times I messed up and drained the battery.

That's good to hear. With my carbs upgraded, it has become VERY hard to get it to start with cold tempatures. I've looked into a magnetic block heater which my local Advance Auto Parts carries for $25. Once the bike has been warmed up and riden, she starts w/o a problem. I know the carbs are not completely 100% tuned in just yet, but it's becoming annoying when you want start it in the colder temps.

Many of the old motorcycles are cold blooded when first started.
Nearly all the Z1's/KZ's I've owned will cough and splutter a little when first started - it does take them a minute or so to warm up engough to be able to pull away.

Here's one of my old relics - 1973 Z1 with a few 'minor' modifications.

I still have to let her warm up. Full choke and she fires first try, slip it down to half choke and let it come up to full temp. Takes a minute or three at thirty to fourty five degrees. Less if its warmer.

Freaking AWESOME exhaust covers! I want to wrap my exhausts with black insulating tape, but that almost changes my mind!
