Kent, that is still one pretty machine. I hope you've forgiven me for posting the eBay auction link on KZ Rider (I'm not sure if you saw it there first or on eBay itself)!

Doing well, Jim.
Just getting sick and tired of winter. I put the new HEL lines on my SR last night and got the front brakes bled last night. Next up is fitting a manual fuel tap, changing the oil, and getting it ready to ride.

A little update on my bike...
Finally got a new ignition switch w/key. My key was stolen back in Feb... Anyway got the new switch, will install it soon. Then it will be time to finally get a battery and new spark plugs, throw some gas and some oil in and see if the bad boy will start up...

I have an '82 KZ750 Spectre, and I'm also a member over at kzrider. Still trying to decide whether to leave it stock or start modifying. I need a better pic. So far I have relocated the turnsignals and added saddlebags. Now trying to decide between adding a luggage rack and sissybar for road trips or making a bobber out of it, maybe something similar to this one:http://kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_ponygallery&Itemid=6&func=det ail&id=691

Bought my midnight red 81 KZ1000 LTD new when I was in Dallas. It's been moved all over the country since then and stored for most of it's life. Under
7,000 miles showing but the odometer was replaced by the dealer when it had about 1,500 on it. Unfortunately a lot of the storage was outdoors and covered. Working on restoring it now and getting it running right again. No pic's since I don't own a digital camera but will try to get some taken soon. Update: The restoration has begun and you can check out the progress in the "Photos" link in my sig. Last edited by StarGate : 08-03-2007 at 05:01 PM. |

hey Stargate,
My bike has had a very rough life, but at the same time she has been treated like a lady. Crashed a few times, ran from johnny law a few times,I have ran the crap outta this bike for 31 years! She has never let me down. But my bike has been stored in my home, warm& dry, always kept her clean, and have done all maintance and parts replacement myself (she's a part of me)!!! Longhair ![]() |

I have a 78 Z1-R. I'm also a member of kzrider, though I never visit anymore. I think the site is a mess to navigate around. Much better here and with the national Z1 owners clubs.

KZrider was a great site. On topic technical questions were segregated by displacement. Then my internet took a six month vacation. When I got back, there was a forum change which rendered the site unusable. I have a couple of hundred posts there.

+1, ELR. I joined when they had the old design. When they renewed the site, it got too complicated and I stopped visiting. I know several other people who feel the same. Too bad really. The site has a lot of potential with all it's members.
