I have a KZ440 LTD. It is an absolute blast to ride, gets 55+ mpg, and is pretty comfy.

I've got 2 a 1981 KZ1100 A1 (aka: a standard) and a 1982 KZ1100 Spectre N1 like Oldcoldankles I got the standard to ride while I rebuild/modify the Spectre, I just love the way the Spectres and Ltd's of the 82- 85 era sit the stance and the handle bars just give off that "go ahead make my day" attitude. My first KZ was a 1982 750 Spectre, My comp seems to have lost my pics of the Standard I had some comp probs about 4 months ago and lost a few things off of it amongst them several sets of pics, will get pics hopefully soon!
Would love to see an all KZ ride/event someday!

Default 1977 Kz1000

I just picked this bike up yesterday. It appeared on a buy and sell site the other day and I got there first. The guy selling it was the original owner and it has just over 30,000 miles on it (50660 kms) and is a very very strong running bike. The paint is original and is Black Cherry Metallic, I think is what it is called. It came with a box load of goodies, including a brand new removable windshield. I removed the luggage rack that's shown in the pics and had put the grab bar on it but have since taken it back off as I like the look of that tail section too much to have it cluttered.

I want to make it into a standard, and change the colour, but as all the parts are original paint and in awesome shape, except for some blisters on the tank from something that spilled on it, I'm in the market a standard's tank, a tail section and side covers. Anyone have some that they want to part with or suggest where they can be had ?

Here's the service manual for 1980-1982, I don't know how close that will get you but it should be pretty close

Here are some other workshop manuals (and a great site, BTW).

Evening!

Also new to the forums. I picked up my first bike this weekend, and have been working on getting it in shape to ride.

Heres a pic of my 1979 kz1000:

Its definitely a work in progress, and I'm hoping it wont take too long for me to get it ready to ride outside of my neighborhood

Heres the link to my WIP thread, detailing the issues as I run into them. I can't wait for my repair manual to show up, should help considerably!

Clicky

I've had an '81 CSR 250 since November of last year. I took the MSF course and got my endorsement a month ago. I rode it about 120mi and then it began to fall apart. In a period of 3 days the speedometer cable broke along with the clutch cable and the left side mirror. The chain loosened way up and started rubbing against the chain guard. While I was fixing that I found that the back tire is too wide and rubs against the frame.

Other than that I love this bike! I'm having a great time fixing it up and making it look nice. Parts are on order and the tanks in the paint shop so I'll have pics next week sometime.
