    Default 630/530 chain conversion

Going to do a 630/530 conversion on an '83 GPz1100. Is there a conversion chart/list or trial and error? Anyone have ideas on sprockets for a conversion?

Call Jeff at z1. I did this conversion on 83 650. I spoke to Jeff, he walked me through the whole conversion stuff.

It's not really as hard as it sounds. The hardest part for me was getting the front sprocket off.

Thanks. Used z1's website info and link to JT Sprockets website. Looked at all Kaws above 1000cc and later models. Found matches to do the conversion.

    530 Front 17t #JTF527.17
    630 Rear 41t #JTR501.41

Changes ratio slightly from 2.73:1 to 2.71:1

    Now to find the chain...

The chain should be the regular one, the X ring.

Do a search on Z1 for chain. All of the sizes will come up. I want to say that I use the 102 for the 650, but that may not be right...I'd have to look.

I did do a bit of looking around, and you might use the 110. You'd have to look through the individual chains, or go through the Parts by make and follow that to your bike.

The '79 650 takes a 102 link chain. I am doing price comparisons on all the different makes. I am hoping a friend at a bike shop can get me one cheaper than $100 for the Tsubaki I want. Good luck on your conversion.
