I know the 400 and 440 were very similar bikes, but I was wondering exactly how similar they were. Other than engine parts, are frame and body parts direct bolt-ons or were the frames substantially different?
Specifically, I'm asking because I've found a set of touring luggage for a 400 that I want to use on my 440. Input would be much appreciated

I have a 1981 440 and a 1979 400 I have used many parts from my 400 to complete my 440. Parts such as the pipes, carb(with a little alteration), seat, fenders, gas tank, turn signals and a few others. I really don't think there is any differance between the 2 frames I have. Hope this helps..

It might be a good idea to verify if the parts interchange applies between the Standard models & the Ltds. Just in case... Also, KZ400.com is a good website; lots of 400/440 model info. JMK. |
