I used "Extreme Cycles" in Topeka, Ks: 785-234-5007. They can order and ship anything to you; I am friends with the owner (Brian Lewis) for over 20 years and I'll put my name behind him. His name is his reputation; give him a ring and drop my name (Kenton Russell). I'm sure if they make lines for the bike he can find them and get them delivered to you.

I called Brian at Extreme cycles, Seems like a knowledgeable mechanic. He knew exactly what I wanted. Sound like a busy guy though! If he asks you I basically want everything brake line wise. Banjos, washers, and lines. He's going to do my brakes just like your setup. He mentioned that he was doing some things with frames and I told him to stop. If I let him go on I wouldn't finish the 750 and I would start the 1100.(which by the way I am actively looking for) My paint guy is still dragging his feet! It will be time to move the shop to the basement soon. I was hoping for a rolling frame by end of Oct! Wish me luck!

Oh man; VERY COOL! I'm glad to be of help. I just got my bike back from a buddy (some minor mods); so, tomorrow (Friday) I will get Brian on the horn and give him all the measurements. I have to say, the braided lines will give you ABSOLUTE positive performance gains; and if you're looking for handling gains: Zephyr rear shocks. They'll raise your ride height about an inch or an inch-and-a-half and it will quicken your steering while making the rear end better performing.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Okay, here you go:
Front lines: 30" on the right and 33" on the left
Rear line: 16"
These measurements are taken including the banjo bolts, so consider that when ordering your lines. If you need I can re-measure just the lines, but I'm guessing that if Brian gets ahold of the maker they will know the length of the banjos and include/exclude them in their calculations.

Let me know if you need more help. Make sure to post pics!!!

Great thread! I've just bought an Aussie-spec GPZ750 to keep my ZR550 company. It looks a lot like most the "orginal" red GPZs in this thread (i.e. faded paint on the body and missing paint on the engine). Only just got it last week and it's sitting at my parents house so I haven't had a chance to play or photograph yet. Only "issue" I have is that it's pretty noisey in the bottom end when idling when cold .. like my ZR550. Above about 1500rpm it's nice and sounds strong. I'm assuming this is just the usual 650/750 main chain clatter? Carb sync to start meez thinks ..

I'll post photos as soon as I get them.

Yeah, the noise is just the primary chain. Mine's a bit noisy too when cold. With my carbs in synch, the noise goes away when the engine is warm and at idol.

Good for you! You'll love your L. I had one when new in 1983. Kept it a long time then got something else. Just this Monday, I brought a cream puff of one home to South Carolina from Des Moines, Iowa! Never thought I'd find another one, and certainly not in that kind of condition. She only has 15K miles on it and garage kept. I was really blessed. So tickled to have another one. I rode it an hour yesterday and felt like I did 26 years ago! :~) Of course she doesn't compare to my 2004 Z1000 in handling, etc. with the newer technology, but she's a wonderful back-in-the-day bike. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine.

Well, LOVE both your bikes! I'm a big fan of the 2003 - 2006 Z1000s. Post up pics of your GPz when you get a chance...and throw a few of the Z in there, too!

I've always had a fondness for the GPzs and hope to own one one day.
They are after all the baby brothers/sisters of the KZ line.

Yea, brian never called me back! That's ok though! I can order the lines by the measurements off the web sight. Deer hunting will be over soon and I'll get back to the GPz more often. Paint guy got me some more pieces, and things are gettin pieced together little by little. I have spent so little time on it that I have to go to the book to put the thing back together. There seems to always be something pulling me away. Kids, hunting, computer crashing, family deaths. DAMMIT PEOPLE LET ME WORK ON MY BIKE!!
