Hi Davidcl,
I'm with you,, love the new stuff and have had plenty of it over the years. I guess I'm getting nostalgic and wishing I would of kept some of the bikes I no longer have. This is an oppurtunity for me to get a blast from the past as it were. I used to own one of these in the day. I'm sure it will be quite a conversation piece and fun to ride.

If I were you I'd look into restoring that 750 of yours. That was a real piece of 4 cylinder history my friend. If you restore it I'm sure it will only increase in value. How many of those do you see on the street?? They ran good and smooth also........go for it!!!!!!!!

Hey Yamaslama. That swingarm is one that I believe Redline contracts to have made for them. Check out this link for all the poop....

Oh my, oh my.

Yup, Very, very pretty.

I love the polished lip on the wheels.

I'd be careful with the pics around the house though, when the miss's figures out what you've done with her bath towels she'll be outraged.

Were Lester mags originally all black or a black/silver combo? I've forgotten.

Hi W-P Bil. I think the Lester mags were black/silver combo. Redline glass bead blasted them and then polished the outer rim.

By the way, LoudFastUgly, I've ****ed off more women than you can realize by using their bath towells to polish my bikes....f...'m if they can't take a joke!

Yeah spyman, I've watched that clip dozens of times and never get tired of it. Perfect for a cold day. And as soon as I get around to making room in my garage, a 1075 is in the stars. Along with that swingarm. In watching that vid, I also can't help but wonder if he has one of them quarter turn throttles, because you don't see his wrist move when he hammers it.

So what kind of stuff did they do for your front end? I noticed your fork tubes are raised. Did they put new springs and seals in for you?
I did see a nice fork tube brace for these bikes somewhere.

Yama, yeah they put new springs, seals and positioned the fork tubes in the triple tree so that the front end will be 1 inch lower. The rear shocks are 13 instead of the stock 14" length.

That's pretty much exactly what I did on my 750. Slid the forks up & went to 13" Progress shocks with matching Progress springs.

Good deal. You're settin yours up very much how I plan on mine being.
I was thinking about swapping the front end like some guys have done, but to be honest, I think the old gal handles just fine with stock parts. I did get a little wobble one time somewhere close to the top end of fifth gear, but that turned out to be a tire pressure thing. But the rear end does this little bump gyro thing at speed, so the swingarm has got to go.
Another problem I'm having, is being willing to take her apart for the build. She's running great. And being bikeless sucks.

Default More resto. photos

Here are a few more samples of frame up resto's done by Jim at Redline Cycle. Looking at these helps pass the time its taking for him to finish my bike.

The Red KZ1000A on the right is not a restoration, it is a mint original.....just thought I'd point that out

Thumbs up 34mm Mikuni Flat Slide Carbs with K+N filters

These are the latest photos that Jim at Redline Cycle has just sent.

The engine has a test pipe mounted to it but eventually will have a ceramic coated 4-1 Kerker with large comp. baffle.

He reports that the engine has finally been fired and sounds healthy. Won't be long now and the bike will be complete.

More photos to come.
