i just bought a 1980 kz 440 ltd and we're trying to get it running again after 20 years. we are trying to find out what the gap should be on the points. can anyone help? the other issue is the rust in the gas tank and it needs an air filter. any suggestions on where to get the air filter? i got the bike with only 10,000 miles on it for $100 so its pretty sweet. we got it running a few days ago but those things just need to be dealt with before i can get it back together and ride it. any advice would be helpful.

Check the STICKY thread at the top of this section for a list of parts suppliers for the filter. For the tank rust, get a POR 15 sealing kit and install an inline filter between the petcock and carbs. Can't help you with the points gap but someone will soon I'm sure.
