Default carb backfire? 82 750 twin

I read a thread about someone who had carbs off many times and still had backfire. This must be common as mine is doing it too..

What did you find as the cause?

Carb back fire can be caused by air getting sucked in to the cylinders, check the rubber boot seal from the carb to the intake , clamp tight ?, rip or torn rubber , check the end where the rubber mounts to the cylinder . Last week i had my carb off , i failed to tighten the clamp on the carb enough , bike ran okay at first ,then little by little started to back fire .until one day blew the carb right off the rubber boot .

But Spam has several uses. It even works fairly well as air cannon ammo.
