I just bought this KZ1100 Spectre and found a picture of one on the internet with a Vetter fairing. I like it, so I found a Windjammer SS yesterday at a motorcycle boneyard(this guy probably has a dozen vetter fairings scattered around), but he didn't have a mounting bracket for my bike. Anybody out there have a source for a bracket?

Thanx for taking the time to reply and for the link Kent. As the gentleman says in his article, someone may have to start reproducing some brackets. It accured to me before I even read the article. I have been riding for many years but have never had the luxury of a windscreen. Someone told me yesterday that it is a sign of getting older. What's wrong with a little comfort? I think I deserve it. I'm sure someone out there will have some knowledge of what I need. Thanx again. Shannon

You might be able to find one on good ol' eBay. I have one off an '83 KZ1100 but I'm waiting to see if it will fit my 650 or not (it's buried in the garage). I too was resistant to owning a bike with a fairing but I bought a used '82 GS1100 Suzuki about 10 years ago with one and was sold on the idea. Especially nice when touring. It makes the profile of the bike bigger too and makes it a little more visible to the blue-hairs and teenyboppers who might not "see you"....

Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure if the bracket will fit either, but I'm tempted in getting it anyway. Sounds like brackets are hard to find period. What would you want for the bracket?

Does $20 sound fair? I'll have to find it to give you any info about it, I think the 73 -80 Z/KZ 900's and 1000's all used the same bracket. It doesn't look like the one Partstime has, it's bent tubing with angle on it. I recall it having a Vetter903 sticker on it at one time.

810 6th Ave W Kalispell, MT 59901 Let me know what the shipping will cost and I can send you whatever form of payment you want. The photos are awesome. I love the internet. It has helped me tremendously with an old Brit bike I have had for a couple of years... |

Can either one of you post some measurements? I've a Don Vesco Rabid Transit that I want to mount on my Z-1, but I need a bracket. I'm told a Vetter bracket is a direct replacement. I have a guy that can fab stuff up for me, but more data would be better.

I can't believe that someone is actually looking for one of these. I sold my Windjammer SS fairing and the guy was going to put it on a CB, so he didn't want the bracket. I was going to throw it away. If anyone wants it, it's yours for the cost of shipping. It's of a 78 KZ
