So there I was yesterday at the Rice-O-Rama show where I saw a 1990 ZR550 Zephyr. NICE with engine problems. Since I work on bikes 60 hours a week, I HATE working on my own. If anyone knows, I need to know if any of the chain drive KZ550 motors will bolt into this thing. I know it's a linear descendant of the KZ550. I don't really need power, it would be my new commuter. (I also have VERY nice memories of the one I rode at Willows in 1990.)

Any Zephyr addicts around here? Any Zephyr forums?

Can't help you there mark. But I know where there is 750 twin.

I'm pretty sure KZ550 motors Will fit . I even saw a ZX600 early ninja motor in one(same lower cases) all they had to do is mount a radiator.

I think Tina has a KZ650 available.
And it's got a special aftermarket oil pan ventilation system!

It's not the oil pan, dammit, it's the shifter seal. Get it right.

And I haven't had to lube my chain all summer, thank you.

Tina I think you are thinking about the wrong engine. Think about the one that isn't in the frame any longer.

It still wasn't an oil pan leak, it was a front-of-the-motor-leak.
