Default 1982 kz 440 belt drive

I just bought a 1982 KZ 440 belt drive. The bike has been sitting for over a year. I just changed the oil and spark plugs and battery and get get it started. I pulled the gas tank off and looks like one of the lines that goes into the petcock is cracked.

I am going to replace the petcock and some of the lines. Can anyone tell me where to get a new petcock and a good place to get parts? I think I will need to replace the belt drive as it looks a bit worn. Will have fun with this project as it has just 5500 miles and looks great. Will post pictures in the next day or two. I bought it for just $400 by the way.

The sticky thread at the top of this section has a good list of parts suppliers for vintage bikes.

What is weird is that I pulled the tank off the bike along with the lines to the petcock. There are three setting pri, res, and on. In the on and res nothing comes out. When I set it to pri gas comes out?

I just ordered a petcock rebuild kit. The carbs are off the bike as I have not taken them apart to check everything as I am waiting for the manual to see what to look for. My gosh are the carbs hard to get off. I am sure I will hve trouble getting them back on.

Can someone tell me what pri means on the petcock and when to use it? I assume it is for priming the carbs? Anyways will be on here lots for advice and hope to get my kz running soon.

That's how it is supposed to work. The ON and RES are vacuum operated, so make sure the lines are not cracked or they will not work. PRIME does not need a vacuum, it just flows. Use it to fill the carb bowls after you clean the carbs, or if the bike has been sitting a while.

When you put the carbs back on use a little lube on the manifolds to slip them on.

Thanks,
so the Petcock is probably fine then.

I am waiting for the manual as to take apart the carbs and figure out how all the internals work to see if something is bad or dirty.
