Question Winterizing?

I have a 1984 KZ550 LTD.Last winter I just added Sta-Bil to a full tank of gas, went for a 10 min ride, and drained the bowls on the carbs(no gas shut off).Pulled the plugs and gave the cylinders a shot of fogging spray.
Just wondering if this is the best way to store the fuel system for the winter.
Or should I run the bike untill it runs out of fuel then drain any gas left in the bowls?
Thanks........

Full tank, fuel stabilizer mixed thru as mentioned, drain bowls, fogging oil, tire psi to max, cover muffler outlets with a bag and elastics, battery on a tender.

I would add a bit of gas line antifreeze (water remover) to the tank as well.

Hey, you live in Ottawa! I was there for 20 years up to last July.
Which end of town?
Do you have a battery tender? Best thing in the world for storage of the battery as you just hook it up and leave it in the bike.

If you can block the bike so both wheels are not touching the pavement/garage floor. This will reduce the chance of creating a flat spot on the tires. Some 2x4's cut to fit under the engine works nicely for this.

I found this webpage about a week ago and thought it would be a good guide to go by:
