I pulled off my timing cover, and saw no slots, neither my clymer manual or the factory manual say anything about adjusting it.
I need to retard it a bit, due to the spark knock Im getting at higher load and revs, mostly due to the increase in compression. The only thing Im thinking of is putting it on my rotory table on my mill and making the mounting screw holes into slots so I can move it a bit. has anyone tried this? |

you can slot the holes in the ignition plate os you can retard the timing.if you take the pickups off of the plate to do it make sure you put the magnets back on the same way they came off.if you flip either of them over it will not run on 2 cylinders.i have slotted a lot of them in the past.
