Default KZ440 rat bobber.....

What you think....held together with random stuff and zip ties. Fun to ride....probably not the safest thing but hey, I thought it looked cool.

Just had to have it.....

it would be fun to ride around town. may not be some people's cup of tea. there isn't a bike out there that i can't find something that i like about it, wish i could own them all.

JMK.
Yeah...it was on eBay. The place that "makes" these (and I use that term loosely) is only a few hours away. For some reason I HAD to have it.

Its stupid loud.....takes forever to warm up and run good (thats partially due to the cold weather)......leaks gas out of the bottom of one of the carbs when its not running.....its mainly put together with zip ties and random bolts....but I love it.

Spent a few hours cleaning a few things up and making them far safer....such as the seat area.

Runs HARD though....Ive got a KZ1000 so I wasnt expecting much out of this and I was REALLY surprised with this 440.....I expected it to accelerate like a moped....not at all the case.

Everyone that rides it loves it.

I have to admit I wasnt impressed with how it was put together and I overpaid for it if you factor in the craftsmanship.....but you can see that stuff in pictures so I didnt have anything to go on.

Looks like a fun in the sun toy! Wouldn't be any fun at all on wet or muddy roads. Unless you really enjoy mud wrestling.

I love it, but I would put shocks back on it.

I was planning on it....until I rode it.

Im 6ft4in and 300lbs....a big boy by anyones standards.

At any rate....I can blast this thing across railroad tracks in second gear.....hit pretty good bumps etc.....no problems. Im quite surprised. I would say it rides no harsher then my 650 VStar with the shock cranked most of the way up.

The only real problem is if you hit a big bump the *** end of the bike breaks contact with the pavement.....but its not hard on me in any way.....of course if that happens in a corner I might end up sliding down the pavement.....which WOULD be hard on me.

Ehh, just saying its not as bad as it looks ride wise.

I've got a friend with a bobber built around a Yamaha inline-4.
I asked him about the hardtail... he said that he can do a 600 mile day, no problem.

Or he can hit a pothole leaving his neighborhood and he's not riding for a week.

Negative impact on handling, decreased tire life.

yea i'm sure it would make it handle worse? hard tails wear tires out fast already (so easy to spin) i don't think he will notice. they ride so much better, it's worth it. but what do i know, i'm just a sportbike guy

I run 32psi or so in front and back with a rigid, don't really have a problem with spin, the bike just takes off... although I don't run the rpms up and drop the clutch though...

I have an original coke bottle opener (old brass one) I got from my grandparents when they passed away. my dad remembers it from when he was a kid and that was in 1959. I like the idea of a bottle opener lol
