what is the vin##

i have a 1977 ke250 and i can't find the vin, since it's pre-1980 it;s not 17 numbers long, All i have is ke250b-123456 is this the number i need?

VIN numbers are an internationally recognised format.

KE250B-123456 is the old format frame numbers and is the number you need if somebody asks for the VIN.
