Default Please help ID my carbi

Hi people, hoping someone can help a newbie with a identity crisis

    I have recently purchased a Z250c from a friend.
I have noticed it has a fuel leak from around the bowl seal which appears to have been made from silicon.
I took the carbi bowl with me to my local Kawasaki dealer but they say it's not the original carbi and so have no idea what seal i need.
The engine runs fine with this carbi, apart from the fuel leaking slightly, so i'd like to stay with what i have but need to know what it is or what it came from so i can get a kit for it.
    Any advice is most welcomed.

The only markings i can find on it are; KEIHIN japan, and the number 26 circled.
Inside the bowl is stamped; OK(quality cont. i figure), F circled followed by -2-3

    I have these pics too

    Thanks
    Steve

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to post a link to another forum, but Wiredgeorge would certainly know wiredgeorge motorcycle carburetors - Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Carburetor Sales, Rebuilding and Restoration - Home He is a master with the KZ and other older carbs
I started out with nothing, and still have most of it.

I don't know where you're from but since you have a Z and not a KZ I'm guessing it's not the US. That looks to be a carb that Kaw used on the KZ200's as well as the KLT200 3 wheelers. The part number for the gasket you need is 11009-1028 that's the good news, the bad news is that it shows as being discontinued. It is possible though that a dealer may have one laying around in inventory somewhere and if you give them a part number they are more likely to be willing to check for it.

As to stopping your fuel leak, try cleaning up the brass float valve with a Q-tip dipped in some Mother's mag polish. It goes a bit faster if you chuck the Q-tip in a drill. Just keep polishing until the Q-tips no longer turn black and the seat gets nice and shiney then spray away any Mothers with some carb cleaner.

Cheers guys, im from Aussie land so that explains the Z code.

I spoke to a guy who suggested i try a sealer called Stag jointing paste, its safe for fuels and oils etc. so i gave it a go.
Had it running today and no leaks so far..fingers crossed.

    Thanks again
