Looking for a fresh head or a rebuildable one for my 79 MKII. No broken fins and good spark plug holes please.
I have put 50 miles on my new restore with Sea Foam in the tank and it really sputter at easy throttle. It's clearing a running out of gas type of sputter. If you get on it hard you would think the bike runs great. Starts perfectly and idles great. I'm thinging it's the low speed jets which I did...
I picked up an 80 440 LTD (chain drive) with under 800 miles on it. Runs like a champ, looks new, and it's ultimately for my son after he completes the MSF rider course. The previous owner stated the he had the carbs cleaned up by a local mechanic (800 miles in 24 years - they could've been...
The rear wheel on my 1977 KZ1000A1 has gotten some water inside the rim and it's pretty rusty. It looks OK on the outside but when I went to put on a new tire the insides a mess. I have a rear wheel from a KZ1000B1 (the cast aluminum LTD model) thats is good shape and it looks like to may fit....

Hello, I am new to the forum and am looking for a good side pic of an 85 zx900 ninja without seat, fairing or body panels. Could anyone help out a designer?
i just bought a 86 kawasaki 454ltd. the previous owner let sit over the winter with fuel in it. i rebuilt the carbs and cleaned the tank. i t will start and idle fine but stall out when i give it gas. i can hold my hand over both carbs and it runs and accels fine. i currenty have the air filters...
I am looking for information as to whether my bike was manufactured in the US or Japan. i used to have information relative to the frame # but i can not find it. thanks oocrsquare
Finally getting ready to finish the rebuild on my 1981 KZ1000 M1 and want to address a problem that's been present ever since I bought the bike. The four outboard valve cover bolts that go through the rubber inserts were stripped by PO - preventing a decent torque-down. Two bolts would sorta...
Greetings. I've found a lot of information on here, but I have a question. I purchased this bike late last summer and just took it out of storage and it started up and runs perfectly...well, working on the idling. One question...I want to change the oil filter as well as the oil and I can't...
Had a discussion awhile back about what position was "RUN" v. "RES" on an OEM KZ1000J2 petcock. Well, ran the tank down yesterday and the position shown is "RUN", which is consistent with the arrows on the lever. The Owner's Manual is wrong. Also, I filled the tank FULL yesterday to confirm the...
Ok so i have a motor with 5400 miles on it and i F'ed up the carb holder bolt real bad so i bought another head with 12k and i installed it and turned it over and felt no compression coming out of the spark plug on the right side. when i turn it over i can hear the compression coming out of the...
I have an opportunity from a neighbor to nab a Kawasaki 550 LTD (he claims it to be a '77 but after much research i've yet to find a '77, the oldest I could find was an '81, is he right?) but he offered it to me for free, or he was sending it to the scrap yard. It does have a few bugs though, he...
I was wondering if that motor will fit in "77 kz650 frame"????? Jake
Start the bike up runs like it is missing a couple cylinders then gets to the point were she is only running on one cylinder put different coils in still the same running horrible I think it the CDI box-ignitor spark just fades out on the 1 and 4 cylinders then on #3 and ideas.
I just finished installing the new head into my engine and for the life of me cant get the thing timed right, am i correct at putting the pointer on the crankshaft straight up and the cam gear pointers intake side toward the intake and exhaust towards the exhaust side of engine????
Hi I have recently acquired a 1984 GPZ (ZX) 550. The front forks won't hold air pressure - just leaks out in about 2 minutes. Tried a spare valve - but no luck. Where is the air likely to be coming out and what should I do to stop it?
The bike that I resurrected has never run properly. For instance, if I accelerate quickly, it'll bog down and almost die then take off. The bike is also much weaker than it should be. When I took off the carbs, all that I did was clean them out, I didn't do any tuning. That said, here are my...
Does anyone know the paint codes for the red they used on the 1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900 A-1's? I'm getting my tank refinished and I need to match the color. Thanks.
