Many new members ask if parts are available for their specific model KZ/Z1. This is a list of parts sources some of which I have used and other members on this and other boards have used. Please feel free to add to the list if you know of any others. Z1enterprises http://www.z1enterprises.com/...

I have a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 A-1, which has sat for some 15 years. I need a complete overhaul due to engine being locked up. Marvel mystery oil hasn't worked and want to put this back on the road. Any help would be appreciated. Rob
I checked my valves today and found I have .003thousandths (.076mm) on the intakes and .005thousandths (.127mm) on the exhaust, except #4 that was .004thousandths (.102mm) on both intake and exhaust. I had the common tapping sound coming from #1, I thought. I was surprised there wasn't much...
Long time lurker, first time poster... I've got a mystery part on my hands. Its obviously a seat. That isn't the hard part. I'm trying to track down a manufacturer or, better yet, a part number. I bought it at a swap meet for $150 about five years ago. I used it on a 1982 440 LTD, but I...
Highway,4th gear,55mph,5k rpm. I hit the accelerator and the engine shoots to 9k rpm, but the bike goes nowhere. Let off the throttle and hit it again, bike moves, but not much. This has been happining for a few weeks. I've posted before about a coke can rattling noise upon decelleration. The...
Hey all! New manual camchain adjuster went in a few weeks ago, and almost no noise now. Adjusted the valves and gave the carbs a quick clean as well as the air filter. Today I changed the oil, and lowered the forks 1 inch and adjusted the rear axel to lower the bike in the back. I put her...
Ok, long story short... I decided to get the bright idea to take a spare set of KZ550 carbs & install a DynoJet Stage 3 carb kit to liven up the bike some more. Already had a drop in K&N and MAC 4-1 pipe set up on stock carbs prior. Well, I purchased Emgo air pods to add to the DynoJet carbs...
Newbie starting my first project bike and came across my first issue I could use help with. I have an 84 ZN700-A1 that I've been riding for about 2 weeks. The carb was supposedely rebuilt by previous owner. It has run great so far and started up every day, usually with a little choke in the...

I'm looking to get an aftermarket system for my 650, I've found a bunch of MAC exhaust systems for a reasonable price, but I can't seem to find any that are 4 into 2. I can only find 4 into 1 systems. Also, how do these bikes sound with a straight through system?
Well after about a years worth of tinkering, constructing, custonizing, and trying different things, I rode the B twin home tonight, about 14 miles, only one slight incident, about three miles into the ride a coil wire decided to come out and it stalled, took me a few minits to find the problem and...

Hello everyone. I have a 1978 KZ1000 that I purchased new and am in need of replacing the rear tire. It came with Dunlop tires when new, but I don't think they are available any more. Any recommendations? Thanks, Tom
Ok, my 73 F11 had 7 disks or plates in it... but the parts motor I bought AND the Kawasaki friction plate set I bought both have 6... wtf??
Does anyone know what motors will fit into a 83 GPZ 1100 without too many mods. The reason I am asking is I have found a complete bike with a pooched motor that can not be rebuilt. Any help would be great.
First of all just wanted to say you guys have a great forum here. I just bought my first bike and first old-school Kawasaki. I thought this would be a beater I would learn on and sell after 6-12 months but since I've riden it for a week and seen what others have done with these bikes, I've decided...
