Beautiful Bike Jay. Stretched just a little, but not too much, and all the polished bits and wheels combined with that paint is sick.

Bonus points for the purdy bike, and bonus points for posting pics with your first post!

Welcome!

The popup window for managing attachments says that you can upload .jpgs up to 4,7 MB - I am trying to upload one that is 2 MB but it won't work... what gives?

Its done that to me as well, and I've not found the place to fix that, even with my extra buttons.

I'd still suggest shrinking it down some, as the forum doesn't resize it to be a decent size.

OK - question 2.

I've downloaded the Image Resizer powertoy... now how do I use it? Do I have to open images with it? Do I have to run it? When I look for it in my files the only thing I can do is install it, it won't run... help please!

Okay, scratch question 2 (I've figured it out), but replace with this one:

Is it possible to upload pictures from your computer but NOT have them show as thumbnails, i.e. stick them directly into the thread?

Slowly getting there!

Not if its upload onto this site, otherwise it shouldn't thumbnail it.

I use Paint Shop Pro and for images to use on the web I usually resize them to 800x600. Then I go to File, Save As, and rename it so I still have the original full quality image. Before clicking on Save I will select the file type as .jpg if it isn't then click on the Options tab in the file saver window and set it to compress to 25%. This size fits on most peoples screens without having to scroll and cuts the file size to around 60 to 100 kb with minimal quality loss.

If you don't have PSP and need a good free viewer that you can resize with try Irfanview. http://www.irfanview.com/ It will work similer but when you click on the save options it has a slider you will set at 75% quality instead of 25% compressed. I use this mainly for veiwing pictures and PSP for editing but it works great.

I usually host them from my work address but I think I'm gonna hafta quit that soon. Here is one I uploaded to this site. P.S. The bike is not for sale. This is a pic I took of it where I found it for sale. It now resides in my garage.

You only have a certain size limit of photo's that you can attach. Chances are, you may have reached that limit in this post.
I would recommend getting a photobucket acct. then you can link directly to any and all the pictures you want.
You can also delete any pictures that you have uploaded in the "Manage Attachments" feature, and then re-post the pictures in the other thread.

Testing upload...

EDIT: Yup, if I upload a .jpg it works fine. It doesn't like .bmp files, though. They open up in Paint, not in Internet Explorer.
EDIT2: This is cool that I can upload from my computer and don't need one of those websites that host pictures.
