    Default My 2007 Ninja 650R

I figured that I would put a picture of my 650 on here.... I have put on Bike Master Bars w/Pro Grips, installed a Targa Fender Kit, removed the front reflector, removed the seat strap, and removed the 650 sticker that was under Ninja. I'm not sure if I'm going to do anything else to it. I prefer the stock exhaust and windscreen. I was thinking about a Targa (rear) seat cover, but I've heard the clips that hold it on break off easily. As for the bike, I bought it new in April of 2008, have put over 5,000 miles on it, and have had zero problems with it.

Even though they are not "super sport" low, they are a lot lower then the stock bars, so more of your body weight is on the bars. They immediately felt great, especially when cornering.

Except for us OLD guys who ride them!

Looks nice. I've had no problems with mine either since buying it last October.

I hated those stock bars. They reminded me of my grandma's walker..... Maybe that's why you like them Dave

    You're right!!!!!

Actually....I don't mind riding the Buell except that my knees can't handle being bent up that much! A couple hours in and I'm screaming to stretch them out!

You're right, it keeps your legs tucked-in pretty tight.

It's funny they call it a "sport touring" bike. Change the bars and there's nothing "touring" about it.

I have NCDave's condition-OA (Old Age), only more advanced. I choose the 650R from the crop of middle weights because of the upright position.
Never the less, there are times i wish the bars were lower. With my OA condition, the stock bars will stay.

I bought the bars from a small local shop and they installed them for me. It's been awhile, so I don't recall the exact amount, but it was no more than $50.00 for the bars and 30 minutes of installation time. They are Bike Master Drag Bars and you can find them online. If they aren't installed exactly right they will hit the side of your fuel tank when you turn the bars all the way to either side. You'll have just a little bit of clearance (maybe a 1/4 inch), once you get them positioned right. You will need to replace your grips at the same time, but that's easy. I threw some gel Pro Grips on there ($15.00).

As for the front reflector, the bolt that holds the reflector also helps hold the front fender to the bike. Go to the dealer and for $5.00 they can order you two bolts like the ones under the reflector, that way they match exactly.

The rear fender kit is by Targa, is great quality, and was easy to install.

I just put installed a Zero Gravity Double-Bubble Windscreen and some frame sliders, so I'll get a new picture posted in awhile.
