Default 1984 750 Turbo

Found this gem back in April - it had been stored for over 19 years in air-conditioned comfort, with under 6,000 miles on it.

Hoo, boy! After rebuilding the fuel system and replacing a few other bits of rubber, she's getting there.

Engine's practically new, turbo boosts like it should and in "race mode" this thing's destroying most of the "sport bikes" that throttle up beside her.

Now for tires and suspension mods. Anybody out here have any recommendations that won't disrupt this classic's performance too drastically?

Thanks!

Wow! That bike is beautiful and if it was me, I would keep it as stock as possible.
Congratulations on that great find.

Wow THAT'S pretty !!! If you bend the bracket holding the boost pop off you can jack up the boost a bit and a 'Busa lunch will be NO probleemo.

Thanks B.O.A.T.

The 750 Turbo is an astoundingly fast straight-line bike, but even when taking a perfect line into turns, trail-braking and throttling become an exercise in risk at nominal track speeds. The rear tire slips too easily; I'm trying to figure out if the old-school rear fork is the culprit, if the stock-style skinny rear tire is to blame, or if it's a combination of the two.

Man does that bring back memories. Back in the 80's I had a GpZ 1100 and my neighbor had a GpZ 750 Turbo. We traded bikes for a while and that thing scared the *rap out of me! When the turbo kicks in WATCH OUT!

Take her easy!

Wow, I mean wow!
Very clean example of a very hard to find machine.
Almost as hard as my minty mint 84 Gpz900.

I use Michelin Macadams on my bike, great tire and they have not let me down yet.

I know an expert on these and I think he still holds the Canadian 1/4 mile record for a turbo Gpz. Woody is his name @ Woody's Cycles in Perth, Ontario. Google him, has a website and bike business and I'm sure he'll chat you up as he is a bit of an expert on that bike.

One last thing, more pictures please?

Congrats, never sell it to anyone other than me. LOL.

BTW, stickerpoint.com still has factory "Kawasaki" tank decals.
3 for $20 bucks. Used them when I re-painted my tank.

Thanks Eric.

I put some Metzeler Lasertecs on Diablo (130/80-18 rear, 110/90/18 front); they're good and sticky and they're stock. Tomorrow's my first track test, so I'll give you the rundown.

BTW, your GPz900 is to die for, dude.

Tell you what, if I ever put Diablo on the block, I'll tell you first. Looks like you know how to take care of a classic bike.

That is a great looking bike... although I am a cruiser guy, for some reason, I have really been trying to find a clean 750 Turbo... so, now you have me unbelievably jealous...

GREAT BIKE!!!

You'll win the Powerball before you find another one as nice as Jimjim's.

very nice find indeed.
i had one as well,but traded it in for a 95 GPZ1100.
i still miss both of them for what they were.

the turbo on that things will definently help with the seat getting skidmarks.

i know

Daemon, my riding buddy and I just spent a very pleasurable time watching you ride out of the mountains...

I'm from Leadville, and I miss the twisties, man! Of course, I don't miss the winters that go with them. But WOW - great ride. Nice job taping that stuff - very professional!

WOW! What a nice find.

Have you seen Lorcan's 750 turbo page site?

I've been watching his ride for some years now.

Default Been to Lorcan's site

Hi, rstnick:
Yep, registered on Lorcan's site, sent in photos, logged onto their forum a few times and sent my info in for their world map!

That's a pretty cool site, but they haven't updated it in quite some time, and Lorcan told me it would take a lo-o-o-ng time for them to post my info.

They're obviously just having a great time riding!

Default Thanks, Kevin!

May as well be brand new...at 6,000 miles, we're just getting broken in!

Nice collection of photos on your mean bikes series, by the way!

Wish I could get my daughter to wax up my bike! LOL!

I'll hit your facebook, maybe trade a few pics.
