Default It pays to wave to motorcycle cops!

All last week there were these 3 motorcycle cops parked at a school on my way to work. They all had their radars out. I was not speeding and I would wave to them and they would wave back.

Fast forward to today: I am going down a different street about 15mph over the speed limit, then I saw the 3 cops. I waved, they waved back and just stayed there. When I passed by 30 mins later, all 3 had someone pulled over.

Moral: Be nice to cops, they'll remember it.

I wave at all bikers. I've never had a cop that didn't wave back.

We don't have motorcycle officers in this State that I know of. In Burlington the parking enforcement officers used to use the Harley or other utility 3 wheelers.

Haven't found one to wave at yet. I'm probably just not out when they are.

No bike cops in NY either. At least not outside of the city.

Quite a few cycle cops in Boise. All I've seen ride BMWs.

I rode with a group of about 25 riders a few weeks ago in Spokane Washington...about 75 miles from where I live. Before we took off for the ride one of the older riders told me the cops really dislike bikers in Spokane. We finally took off and about an hour into our ride we come upon a motorcycle cop heading toward us. I am nearest to the inside of the lane and as we see eye to eye we both give one another a big wave and he keeps going. When the group came to a stop and we all began talking...the older rider who was right behind me walks over and say's...I cannot believe that the motorcycle cop waved to you! They never wave to us as they just don't like us...(they all ride sport bikes) and I replied...well...I was riding my geezer glider (2003 1500 Vulcan Classic) and they all began to laugh.

Surprised there aren't more, actually. Seems like bikes would be the way to get around quick. Why drive a big heavy cruiser in a crowded city.......

on my bike i wave at all bikers. even tho some of them on there crusers dont wave back cuz they dont like sport bikes. I most definatly wave at all the cops. Considering most of them know me from pulling me over in my car so much. (only one speeding ticket tho. thank god)
Its just good to wave.
The poeple who dont wave back think there getting us but in reality they are the ones that look funny for now being nice and waving. SO whatever.

In Germany (at least in Hamburg) there are also not many... I don't know the bikes but it seems that the bikes are older then me... When we hat the 100 Years of Harley Party in Hamburg (125 Years? don't know, sry daddy) Harley Davidson gave a bunch of Harleys to the Police... After the rental time of about 2 years they gave 'em back... i never had the chance to wave to one...
But normaly i wave also to everybody, except to custom-choppers (HD).... they never wave back.... wasted energy....

In Binghamton, NY, there are a few police bikes around. I was actually was pulled over by one several years back while in my car. When I heard his little siren, it took a bit to figure out what it was before I saw hime behind me with his lights flashing. It turns out I had forgotten to put on my new registration sticker (they go on the windshield in NY). He checked it out and reminded me to get it put on to avoid being pulled over again. To this day, I'm not sure how he saw it from behind through the car AND through the back of the sticker (they face out front).

I have work on a lot of Police Motorcycle. All of the motor officer I met were all a bunch of big kids who liked to ride bikes. I use to not care for LEOs, but after I got to know them I will say they are a great bunch guys. And it is better to be there friend.

A friend of mine pulled out in front of a cop one day as he was leaving work. He told me later he didn't know what to do, so he waved. He figured, his only way out of a ticket was going with the illusion my friend thought the cop was letting him out into traffic. He didn't get pulled over.
