Usuallly end of August or mid-septmember we get a biker rally that spends a couple days here. It can be interesting, depending on how many rival groups show up.

Great idea with the soda/beer can but knowing my luck I'd pick the one that someone was using to spit their tobacco in and attempt to crush that can.

Me? I figure if I forget it, it's my own dumb luck. Most coasters or feet that are meant for that use will have a little eye hole on them to run a reminder string from it. Quote:
I think the foot shape is clever. After all, your kickstand has a foot on it, why not a footprint? The shape of a bike would be more clever, though. |

I like the junction box cover idea - effective and cheap!
I use a piece of trex decking post sleeve. I had some left over from a decking project and cut them up into about 3" X 3" squares. It works well and if I leave one behind, it's no real loss. I got twenty more at home. |

The junction box cover is a good idea, though I prefer something with a lip around the edge to ensure the stand doesn't slip off if I'm parked on a grade.
A friend of my sister parked on their driveway, which is stone, and the stand kept wanting to creep off the junction box cover he was using because the stones kept settling under the heavy bike. When we put a plate under it with a lip on the edge (and a little bit of grip in the surface of it), it stayed put. That being said, I might pick up some and carry one around with me in case I either lose the regular foot I use or someone else I'm riding with needs one. Something is better than nothing. |

Anything like these lips? Do feel compelled to paint it black? Does it give you satisfaction? Does it always give you what you want - or is it only what you need?

Lip did you say lip??? Or does it help you get back in the saddle? Is it a big 10 inch? Guess you could use one of the toys from the attic!!!

And yes, they have a lip to stop the kickstand from sliding out on you. ![]() Last edited by parkingpuckguy : 09-20-2009 at 12:52 PM. |
