What you do to show off is putting yourself (which you don't care about) and others (which you don't care about either) that you share the road with in danger.

    Your day will come, dumb***!

Ok ok, the only stupid here is mixing alcohol with riding, wheelies on the freeway in traffic is just skill n balls, i'd rather ride with people who can control they're bike on one wheel then a bunch of knee scrapers, kids that are talented enough to stunt, watch traffic, watch for cops all at once are **** amazing, and hello its a **** motorcycle ur not going to really kill anybody else but there selves, least their not driving a 3000lb car like a sport bike, some people never lay off and push the limits cause thats what a human does. just saying stupidity and crazyness are two different catagory's, you think u knee scrapers are so safe n cool, what if they're was an accident on the road u guys go knee sliding and u hit a patch of cat litter put there to soak up oil, whos the dumb *** now.. i'd rather be know as the kid that died wheeling then the kid who died hitting **** cat litter

this is a joke right? i missed the punchline

So if doing wheelies is playing with fire, why would it be good for me to learn it? Tell me, what use would I have for wheelies?

You say that you do these at night when there is nobody around. I do hope that you do this in a place where there is ample light so you can see if the road is free of debris. It'll suck to be you if ever your rear tires end up running over one while doing your "stunts".

Oh, i've allready fallen at 30-40 mph on my bike n know what can happen, i do wheelies over speed humps, speed bumps, 2x4's in the road, even on dirt.. debris is the less of my worries, and yeah we have these things called street lights cause i live in a city, matter of fact state capital.. so no it doesn't suck when u hit "Debris" unless theres a couch in the road, and doing wheelies is steping up the control u can have over a bike. and u better ur chances of getting hurt, but u only live once, and im taking the fast lane.. not the safe lane. getting a bike period is dumb and risky, don't hate the kids that can ride better then u on one wheel

That's probably why statistics show that more accidents involving injuries and deaths on M/Cs happen at night.

I know people who buy sportbikes buy them to go fast and to a certain degree I don't have a problem with that.

I do have a problem with crazy/stupid riding, of course I can't say that going 125% or 150% or 200% of the speed limit is the cut off point. It's to some degree a judgement call.

I do know however that professional racers on a meticulously maintained track ,that they walk before every competition, that ride on the best maintained bikes with the latest high tech gadgets and stickiest tires regularly crash on these same courses.

According to statistics if you were to eliminate untrained ( non licenced ) riders, DWI and speeding you would reduce motorcycle deaths by 115% ( there is some overlap, some unlicenced rider were DWI and/or speeding ).

So at the risk of sounding like an old f*&t, keep both wheels on the ground, do not go faster than the road conditions allow, imagine your mom/dad/sister driving that car you're about to pass and adjust your driving in accordance to these criteria.

If you want to ride like the pros then pay for some track time, if you want to stunt find a closed section of road or a track. Public roads are for the public and as such we must defer to the majority before the majority has us banned.

Unbeleivable.... so many things to add here, but I'll sum it up in one phrase. "There's a time and a place for everything..." I'm sure many here can grasp the wisdom behind that one.

I truly doubt that you do (know what can happen). Either that or you really just have a death wish. And if you do, do it in your own space.

It's bad enough that we have to deal with stupid cagers on cell phones while driving. We don't need your "help" in turning a very enjoyable riding experience into an outlawed one.

I, personally, think that people can "stunt" on public roads. Not interstates, highways, populated roads, or anything like that. If it's on a back road or something, what does it matter? As long as your only putting yourself in danger, then it's fine in my opinion. If your going to hurt other people, then it's wrong.

But, your always going to hurt someone if anybody cares about you.

I'm not saying go out and stunt, but i'm not saying that it's totally taboo. If your going to stunt, listen to the rest of the sensible riders and do it where nobody (But you and those close to you) will be affected.
It's not a matter of age. It's a matter of maturity.

These are the dumbasses that I am always referring to. No experience, spending their dad's money, need to be executed so that the bikes don't get destroyed.

Here's An Article from my local newspaper about an accident that Happend Wednesday Night, May 12. There were over 4 motorcycle accidents that one night. From what I've been told, they all delt with sportbikes and excessive speed.

This one was the worst of those.

UTICA -- A Utica man was killed Wednesday night when an airborne motorcycle landed on the car he was driving, Utica police said Thursday.

Ademir Desouza, 34, of Lee Boulevard, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:35 p.m. crash that closed two major thoroughfares until the early morning hours of Thursday, police said.

Police said motorcyclist David Szatko, 20, of Hillcrest Street, Whitesboro, was merging from Interstate 790 onto Route 12 south -- just south of Riverside Center -- when he lost control of the motorcycle.

Szatko suffered minor injuries and was treated at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and released. Utica police said no tickets or charges were issued as of Thursday afternoon.

After Szatko was thrown from the motorcycle, the 2004 Kawasaki skidded across the southbound lane of Route 12, struck the guard rail that separates the lanes, became airborne and landed on the roof of Desouza's 1993 Oldsmobile, police said.

Desouza's vehicle then swerved off Route 12 North and came to rest on the entrance ramp of Interstate 790 East.

State police assisted in the case. A helicopter was used to photograph the scene, state police Sgt. Richard Misterka said.

Utica police have accident reconstructionist Jeffrey Pilipczuk and members of the Utica Criminal Investigation Division handling the case.

At the scene Wednesday night, state police, Oneida County sheriff's deputies and Maynard firefighters helped close the affected roadways. Utica firefighters and Kunkle Ambulance also responded.

Police started reopening the roadways about 2:15 a.m. Thursday.
I fear that the accidents are just going to get worse. To many stupid kids with Brand new R6's and R1's with no motorcycle driving experience. This was the same night that earlier, a guy at my bike shop said he say a new green Kawasaki doing wheelies in a traffic jam.

No, I think you must have read that article wrong, because everyone knows that if you ever have an accident on a motorcycle, that you'll only hurt yourself.

I talked with a guy a work that delt with the accident from my previous post. The police estimated the guy on the bike was going between 120-130MPH when he lost it on Route 5/8/12 Southbound (which is a 4 lane highway where the accident happend). Also, he must of had some good gear on cause the motorcyclist was brought to the Hospital then released with minor injuries.

Well, the motorcycle driver now has to live with the fact that his motorcycle killed someone. I'm waiting to hear if they will go after him or not for Invoulentary Vehicular Manslaughter.

For those who want to see the article, here's the link: http://www.uticaod.com/archive/2004/...ews/32309.html

If the bike was flying then he more than likely highsided, likely he was running quite a bit harder than he should have been, especially around traffic.

Just got more info on the Bike accident from last week.

The guy in the car was killed instantly, the motorcycle came through his windshield and decapitated him. He was on his way home from a movie. He left behind a wife an 2 kids.

The motorcyclist still hasn't charged with anything yet, but the family brought a civil law suit up against him.

Hey guys, calm down. BOB said this forum does condown stunting or anything else, well it does, I've noticed. Now ok, thats one incident, and i personally would rather die wheeling then dieing when i get pulled down by a fricking rock. So this guy kill another man. so? You acting like your own **** don't stink. More than enough poeple have died well a perfectly good rider loses it, plus you guys don't seem to know the rider of that bike, he may have just done this for the first time, or he may have done it hundreds of times. Plus plenty of poeple die just by cars. Doing a wheelie is ok if you can handle it. Just listen everyone, your not gonna convice ANYONE, and no one is gonna convice you other than hat you have your heart set on. If that guy wheelies in front of some hotties thats fine, if you don't want him to thats fine. He did it and its over, and he's gonna do it again, just as many of you have done things like speed again and again. I have not once met anyone who hasn't sped. Hell i'm 14 and I already have. Its the fact that poeple die and it can't be helped. I'm going to die and so are all of you, its just a metter of when. I'd rather die for something, not of something (yeah its outta a game, but it works). Good luck to all and keep the wheel(s) down.

    Pete B.
